Meet Jack Sparrow

We have debated for years on weather or not to get a pet.  We have actually had a no pet policy.  We liked the idea of a dog but didn't want to give up our backyard to one.  And I am horribly allergic to cats.  But a pet can be a good calming influence for sensory kids (Porter).  So we caved and got a little bunny.  I actually fell in love with a little brown one and went back to get him and he was sold.  So I checked another store downtown and they had this little black bunny that was just like the other one.  He is a mini rex, they only get to about 4 pounds and are so cute!  He can fly around the backyard and is a little hard to catch, Porter thinks it is hilarious!

Echo and Beau decided on the name Jack Sparrow.  Jack seemed to be an appropriate name, we could have also done Jack Rabbit or Black Jack.

You are better parents than us. But a bunny was a good choice I think. My girls will be so excited to visit in a month and get to hold him.

Ems--I had a feeling you were going to cave when we were at Zamzows the other day. Rabbits can be wonderful pets, I think I have a book or two on how to raise rabbits--it also tells you how to butcher and skin them too! You will have to make sure he can't get out of the hole under your fence where your neighbors dog comes in! You can house train him too you know! I assume he is boy? or do you know?

that bunny is sweet. You better keep Owen and Hallie away from it when they are there. It's a black bunny, so their mom probably won't aprove.
