Porter's Physical Therapy Chair

For those of you that don't already know, Porter has had some struggles with his physical development. He has to do weekly physical, occupational, and developmental therapy to strengthen his muscles and refine his motor skills. Right now Porter is about 18 months and he can sit up and do a pretty fast army crawl but he is still quite a ways from being able to walk. He is a really good sport about doing therapy, I think it is a little harder on Echo because during therapy Porter gets all the attention. Anyways, the therapists are always leaving us with little contraptions like therapy balls and rolls and this week they left the chair. This chair helps him to sit up straight and balance and use his stomach muscles. Porter looks like such a big guy sitting in it that we had to get some pictures. The therapists seem pretty pleased with his progress. A couple of months ago he could only tolerate sitting in this chair for a few minutes, but this week he was able to sit in it for almost his entire therapy session, he can reach for toys on the floor and get back to sitting up straight. It's still very hard work for him and he always takes a nice long nap when he is done.
